There have been several sailing campaigns and tournaments that were commenced and are coming up in the following month. Here is a snapshot as to what started or completed in the month of October and what one can look forward to in the month of November.
The Volvo Ocean Race was started this month, which would have seven teams along with their skippers competing for the victory that would take them across 475000 nautical miles and would conclude at June 2018. There are many players, who are the victories of America’s Cup under their belt as well as many who are Olympic Gold winners and hence, the competition would surely be a great one.
The other event that has been ongoing is that nominees have been invited for the award Rolex World Sailor of the Year. The protocols for America’s Cup have been drawn up by Team New Zealand and the Italian team, which has been submitted for acceptance and finalization. This Cup is an irresistible one of those who aim for this prestigious trophy and the preparations are on for the upcoming new chapter, the 36th America’s Cup.
The World Cup Series was held in Japan that provided many international top sailors an opportunity to experience the waters by the coastlines of Japan ahead of the 2020 Olympic Games.
While the Volvo Ocean Race started from Alicante, Spain, the Rolex Middle Sea Race is underway currently that is organized by the Royal Malta Yacht Club. There is also another glamorous yacht sailing race scheduled that would start from Porto Cervo in Sardinia. This event is called the Rolex Maxi Yacht Cup that would bring in an impressive fleet. This is one of the awaited events in the month of November. Those who wish to follow these and other sailing events will surely look forward to the upcoming month.
